Why We Started the Veteran Roof Giveaway
Veterans gave years of their lives to protect ours. Some came home to houses that need as much repair as they do. A leaking roof shouldn’t be one more thing a veteran has to worry about — but for many, the cost of a full replacement is out of reach on a fixed income or disability pension.
We started the RISE Roofing Veteran Roof Giveaway because we wanted to do something tangible. Not a discount. Not a coupon. A complete, professional roof replacement — free — for one Houston-area veteran every year.
What the Giveaway Includes
This isn’t a patch job. The selected veteran receives a full roof replacement using the same materials, crew, and quality standards we bring to every paying customer. That means:
Complete tear-off of the existing roof down to the decking. We inspect and repair any damaged decking at no additional cost.
New underlayment, drip edge, flashing, and ventilation — the full system, not just shingles on top of old problems.
Premium architectural shingles (or the appropriate system for the roof type) installed with our standard six-nail wind pattern.
Full manufacturer warranty plus our workmanship guarantee. The same coverage any customer receives.
Who Can Apply
Any veteran or active-duty service member in the Greater Houston area. The roof must be on a primary residence — we can’t cover rental properties or commercial buildings. There’s no income requirement, but we prioritize applicants who are facing a genuine hardship: fixed income, disability, major repair needs that insurance won’t cover.
Nominations from family members, neighbors, and fellow veterans are welcome. Sometimes the people who need help the most are the last to ask for it.
How We Choose
We review every application personally. There’s no algorithm or random drawing. We consider the veteran’s service, their current situation, the condition of their roof, and what a new roof would mean for their family. Our team visits each finalist’s home to assess the roof and talk with the homeowner before making a final decision.
We announce the selected veteran each year and document the installation so our community can see exactly where their support goes.
How to Apply or Nominate
Fill out the form below with basic information about the veteran, their service history, and why they need a new roof. Include photos of the current roof condition if possible — it helps us prioritize applications with the most urgent need.
