DECRA's tile profiles are listed at 130 to 160 pounds per square (100 square feet), depending on the profile and document, and Tilcor Antica at about 132 to 150; clay tile maker US Tile lists its clay tiles at approximately 590 to 1,070 pounds per square. Steel panels put less load on the framing than real tile does, so homeowners with asphalt roofs can consider a tile look.
